As a board-certified cardiologist as well as cardiac electrophysiologist, Khuyen Do, MD, offers comprehensive heart care at Houston Cardiology in Southwest Houston, Texas. Dr. Do has a passion for empowering his patients to take an active role in their treatment, through details explanation and educational resources to ensure they make the most informed decisions. He advocates for patients and have their best interest at heart. He is board certified in several medical specialties, including cardiovascular medicine, internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, and cardiac electrophysiology.
In addition to diagnostic testing such as cardiac echocardiogram, exercise and nuclear medicine stress testing, Holter, event monitors and customized treatment plans, Dr. Do focuses on preventive care for the full range of cardiovascular problems, including atrial fibrillation, heart failure, peripheral vascular disease and heart attacks. He uses the latest screening technology on site and has extensive training in cardiovascular medicine and electrophysiology. Additionally, Dr. Do is skilled in implant procedures for left atrial appendage closure (Watchman device), trans-venous as well as leadless pacemakers (Micra), trans-venous and sub-cutaneous defibrillators (S-ICD) and has experiences in cryo-balloon and radiofrequency ablation for supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia.
After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of California in Irvine, Dr. Do earned his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York. He went on to do his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Southern California (USC) Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles. After his internal medicine training, Dr. Do served as an assistant professor of Medicine at Hofstra Northwell University School of Medicine in Hempstead, New York. Subsequently, he returned to USC and continued his training in cardiovascular medicine followed by a cardiac electrophysiology fellowship. He has authored multiple articles and given numerous lectures and presentations. After working for several years in Northwest Houston, Dr. Do started Houston Cardiology to be able bring his service to the Southwest Houston community.
Besides his passions for medicine, Dr. Do enjoyed playing and watching various types of sports, outdoor activities with family and friends and participates in international medical missions. Dr. Do is fluent in both English and Vietnamese.
